MUMBAI:
Debut director Rajesh Pinjanis Marathi film, Baboo
Band Baaja, is set for release on 13 April.
The
film, which deals with the sensitive subject of rural
community family issues, hopes to make a mark in the
international arena. It will have an international release
in the US and Canada.
Inspired
by the directors mentor Purshottam Jadhav, the
film tells the story of a man (Milind Shinde) who
plays in a local band to earn his living. He wants
his son (Vivek Chabukswar) to take up the same profession.
The mother (Mitalee Jagtap-Varadkar), on the other
hand, wants to educate her son.
Incidentally,
Baboo Band Baaja won three National Awards
in 2011 for best debut film, best actress in a leading
role and best child artiste.
