Andhra children express environmental concerns through animation films

NEW DELHI: About 40 children aged 13 to 14 years of age exhibited unique knowledge of the environmental problems facing the country as they took part in an Animation Film making Workshop conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Chelimi Foundation in association with Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA).

Children came up with several imaginative concepts expressing their concerns on pollution and environmental problems. Some of the best concepts were made into animation films during the workshop.

Several techniques like concept creation, storyboarding, 2D and 3D and animation were taught by filmmaker Vasant Velpuri and Animation professionals E. Satyanarayana, E Ramesh Babu, and Satya Sekhar.

The initiative was taken by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board to encourage children to express their concerns through Animation film media. The aim was to create awareness among children through the animation film media and also help them to learn the art of drawing and animation.

ZICA (based in Punjagutta in Hyderabad ) had provided all the equipment and facilities required for the workshop under the supervision of its Director Aashish Jain and his marketing team Dasarath Raj and Sushma Jain.

The Animation workshop was attended by Chelimi Foundation Chairman M Vedakumar, A Arun Kumar who is Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, and M Rajasekhar who is Environmental Engineer from the AP Pollution Control Board.
