NEW DELHI: 25 short films from 14 countries including India will be screened during
a three-day womens cinema festival to coincide with the International Womens
Day on 8 March.
Organised
by the Indian chapter of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television
(IAWRT) and the India International Centre from 6-8 March, the festival based
on the theme of Broken Boundaries: Shared Spaces will be inaugurated
by Prasar Bharati board chairperson Mrinal Pande. There
will also be two seminars the first on 'women and public space', and the
second on caught in a madding mass media with sessions on are
we confronting real issues and what viewers think about TV. Countries
being represented include Pakistan, South Korea, Singapore, Bangladesh, Malaysia,
Japan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Iran, France, Norway, the United States, the United
Kingdom and India. The
seminars will be addressed by experts from India and abroad, according to IAWRT
India president Jai Chandiram. |
